Later I read the extraordinarily insightful book by neurologist Antonio Damasio, Looking for Spinoza. Joy, Sorrow, and the Feeling Brain. In the city library in Leuven, I had noticed that there were two recent biographies of Spinoza, both present addoz in Dutch translation. So I searched the Internet for the original English versions. The first one I found, with an attractive addoz price for the hardcover edition was Within Reason. A Life of Spinoza, xviii + 398 pp., Appendix, source notes, bibliography, index, 1998, by Margaret Gullan-Whur, a British author who holds a PhD on this topic. In recent weeks I've read this book. It was a difficult start; those used to read Dawkins, Dennett, Pinker, Wilson and Damasio is indeed rotten: they are celebrated authors, each several bestsellers in their name have difficult to impossible topics and thus have proven to them that the man can bring even more: half the fun is in the reading itself, enjoying the language n of the content.
That is Gullan-Whur not really the case. It does not have the polished style of the top authors nor their phenomenal addoz didactic approach. addoz Her English is often more than slogging fluently, I often had to read sentences three times before I understood what she was talking, sometimes puree
