Lavtstofskifte.info low metabolism - an overlooked and under-treated disease
The other night when I was visiting the Book and Idea, I met a woman who told me that she was frustrated. She had previously been totally down for hypothyroidism (Hashimoto's), but had come back to life, had energy, mood and memory again, as she had participated in a study of combination therapy (T3 and T4).
She was frustrated because the symptoms of hypothyroidism was coming back. The trial was over, and now she has been reduced m and s food in dose to 5 micrograms T3 morning and evening - ie. 10 ug T3 daily. The reason was that she might otherwise have heart problems and that her bones could descaling.
Hmm, I think. Compared to the T3 drugs that are shipping in eg Germany and Norway, contains the magistralt fremstilede T3 from Glostrup Pharmacy a very low dose - ie 5 g T3, liothyronine. I myself am in therapy, but I get Liothyronine from Nycomed. m and s food These pills each contain 20 micrograms T3, and the manual says that the normal dose is around 40-60 micrograms daily.
Could it be that those patients who are offered 10 micrograms T3 daily, so get some medicine that it does not have a sufficient effect? If their dose of Euthyrox / Eltroxin at the same time has been reduced, could it be that some of these patients actually m and s food experience symptoms of hypothyroidism again because they are treated?
As a new all doctors treat the magistralt produced T3 from Glostrup Pharmacy - it is clearly a step in the right direction. However, if the patient does not get better within three months, the doctor must acc. manual return to the treatment with T4 compositions. But honestly - with such a low dose of only three months, how many wonder then benefit from combination therapy?
I even started on a much higher dose of T3 (20 micrograms), m and s food and I could feel the improvement immediately. But it took a long time - up to two years - until I was completely myself again, and it was mind you at a much higher dose of medication.
What I'm saying is: Do not give up if the combination m and s food treatment m and s food does not work for you. Maybe you can change doctors, because there are other places where treated with the type Liothyronine that I get. Also remember that there is still room for combination therapy with natural metabolic hormones. m and s food
However, I am well aware that depending on where you live in the country, it may be easier or harder m and s food to get to a doctor who supports these processes. However, it amazes me that doctors do not always agree when it comes to the treatment of hypothyroidism.
Back to the fact that you can have heart problems and decalcified bones of combination therapy. With regular blood tests to keep an eye on that you do not over-treated and have high metabolism. And although there was a risk, as was the woman I spoke to actually willing to take it, to get treatment here and now: - Better to live well in a few years - than not live their lives, she said.
Super good book also
Hi Gitte - it varies from person to person. I can recommend you to join one of the groups on Natural Thyroid Hormone on Facebook - there you will find some that you can share experiences m and s food with.
Hi Lisa. I recognize that described after combination m and s food treatment for about 2.5 months now. However, with 15 ug T3 daily. However, Endo said that one can go up to 40 ug daily ... and is not "finalized" .... I currently have many symptoms of low SS now, with Eltroxin 600ug / week and 15ug T3/dgl.
Thank Majbrith Helle
